Danica Ferniz, MPH, is a Senior Consultant at COPE Health Solutions with experience in strategy transformation, project management, policy and data analysis, and operational execution.
Prior to joining COPE Health Solutions, Ms. Ferniz served as a Senior Associate in Alvarez & Marsal’s (A&M) Public Sector Services practice, supporting state agencies on large-scale health and human services transformation initiatives. She played a key role in supporting a $300 million Commission charged with reforming Montana’s Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) behavioral health and developmental disabilities systems, conducting policy and data analyses that informed strategic investment decisions and system design and culminated in recommendations approved by the Governor. During implementation, she managed a workstream focused on redesigning targeted case management programs, aiming to transition from fee-for-service to a model that incentivizes providers to measure outcomes along the path toward value-based care. In this role, she developed strategic frameworks to coordinate multiple programs serving approximately 8,000 beneficiaries, enhanced transparency across operations and payment structures, and identified opportunities to improve efficiency and quality. Ms. Ferniz also provided operational and analytic support to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), developing dashboards and performance management tools to strengthen oversight, transparency, and system performance for Medicaid waiver services serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
Additionally, Ms. Ferniz previously worked at Berkeley Research Group (BRG), conducting Medicaid policy due diligence for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) engagements across various health care sectors.
Ms. Ferniz holds a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from New York University’s School of Global Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Society with a minor in Business from the University of Texas at Austin. While at NYU, she served as Co-President of the NYU Healthcare Consulting Club (HCO).
